ABOUT US :

Pauline Steinhorn, Producer / Director / Writer
Over 20 years ago, Pauline left a graduate program in art to become a filmmaker. Although her paintbrushes collect dust, she finds creativity in the art of collaboration and telling stories with pictures. Whether she’s working on a broadcast documentary, interactive educational DVD, convention video or advocacy commercial, she focuses on entertaining and educating the audience.

Throughout her career, producer and writer Pauline Steinhorn has been drawn to social issues. Through her film and print work, she has advocated for improvements in education, winning a CINE Golden Eagle for an educational documentary about teaching English Language Learners; exposed the struggles and successes of welfare reform in a book published by the Aspen Institute; dismantled the myths about AIDS in videos for the Academy for Educational Development; and promoted the heroic efforts of the United Nations through a series of Telly award-winning advocacy commercials.

Pauline’s broadcast credits include: the multi-award winning documentary "Juggling Work & Family with Hedrick Smith", "3-2-1 Contact" and "Sesame Street" for Children’s Television Workshop; four PBS Labor Day documentaries including the Emmy award-winning "Working in the 90s", and the PBS series "MD/TV" for Cronkite Ward Productions.

In the area of corporate educational media, Pauline has worked with ASCD, the National Governor’s Association, YouthAIDS, a project of Population Services International, Corporate Voices for Working Families and many trade unions including the AFL-CIO, Building Trades and SEIU. Since 1998 she has developed interactive training and facilitator’s guides with video as a central component.
